POPULATION
Greater Columbia has more than 583,000 individuals, a number that is expected to increase to 648,700 by the year 2010.  Of this population, more than 500,000 live in the Columbia area with the remainder living in rural areas.  Researchers anticipate the region's population to reach one million by 2025.

Tags and Registration for your automobile:
• New residents have 30 days to apply for new tags.
• Proof of liability insurance, title, registration card and proof of property tax payment are required.

SC Driver’s License:
• New residents have 90 days to apply for a license after moving to South Carolina .
• If new residents have a certified driver’s license from another state, they will not be required to take a written exam, only an eye exam.
• Residents within the state have 10 days to report a change of address.
